Jarod is an interdisciplinary interior designer currently based in Michigan.
He attained his BFA in Interior Design & Art History from the College for Creative Studies, and has acquired an integrated set of experience and knowledge in retail design, residential design, multi-family design, and client & customer services.
Jarod’s current role as Innovation Store Layout Designer at Meijer Inc. keeps pace with the ever changing trends in retail design while simultaneously meeting the needs of business partners in the fast-paced retail world.

a cabin on lake ovid
inspired by familial memories, the cabin on Lake Ovid intends to take visitors on a journey toward wellness through complete immersion within the natural environment. Location, building materials, and design concept tackle all five senses to inspire wellness through humanities deep rooted need for intimacy with ones self, loved ones, and nature.

This collaboration with communication design students was planned for the 2022 Detroit Cumulus Conference: Design for Adaptation. Illuminated semi-transparent paneling guides visitors through a historical timeline of human ingenuity toward climate adaptation.
CUMULUS DETROIT EXHIBITION
Sycamore Terrace is a contemporary adaptation of the antiquated townhouse. Primary focus concentrates on passive temperature control in a humid-subtropical climate. This involves implementing cross ventilation, insulating building material, natural light exposure, and a balanced integration of interior and exterior spaces within the residence.

This sponsorship with the electric automotive lifestyle company, NIO involved collaborating with transportation design students. The NIO Off-Road Retreat is a usonian complex located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Here, there is opportunity to rediscover the enrichment of unplugging and reconnecting with the natural environment.
